Women favored by TV ads as sex objects
Among 931 surveyed advertisements involving gender issues, 88 percent used women to promote produce as sex objects, according to a report released by China's Women Reporter Association Sunday. The report reviewed 4,935 advertisements in China's ten TV channels, including the national China Central Television No. 1 channel, Beijing Television No. 1 channel and Shanghai News Entertainment Channel, and picked out 931 gender issues. "Women seemed to be particularly favored by ads," said the report, adding that 70.5 percent of the ads had women as the main characters. "Most women are revealed through close-up scenes, highlighting their body features, and many women are described as houseworkers," the report said. "Generally speaking, most ads have gender discrimination problems, though there are also some featuring gender equality," it said. The association also ranked China's top ten sex discriminating ads and ten gender awareness ads for 2005, in line with rules including whether females also have independent social strength, whether they misinform children about sex, and whether women have well-rounded characters instead of being fragile and demanding of care.

Craig wants to go nude in first Bond film

Daniel Craig has announced that he is prepared to go nude in his first Bond film. The actor, who is currently filming Casino Royale in the Bahamas, told producers that he would be willing to do a full frontal scene. "In today's world we expect female actresses to go naked so why not men?" Craig told The Mirror. "I have told bosses I'm prepared to do a full frontal scene. I'm not shy and Bond wouldn't be shy about it either." Craig has previously come in for criticism from some die-hard Bond fans who do not believe that he is right for the role.

Sex after sixty
Is sex between older people – and older people having sex – one of the last taboos in Britain? You bet it is. We're British. We don't airily wave away hundreds of years of history and conditioning. Never before has there been a generation of “older people” like us. We do what youth today is doing – be it e-mailing our friends, taking adventure holidays, wearing Nike trainers or having sex. But – we take some getting used to. Older sex often didn't happen years ago. Lives were shorter, and many women, often totally ignorant about sex before they married, thought it was something to be endured as the price for having a man around. Women may have craved affection (don't we all?) but there is little evidence that many of them were craving sex over 60. They were tired, worn out with child-rearing and relieved not to have to “do all that”. Men were always encouraged to “sow their wild oats”. Yet until as recently as 40 or 50 years ago, women were meant to move from virginity to marriage to young motherhood – with no sex education.

Man gets 15 years for HIV sex
An HIV-positive man who had unprotected sex with seven women has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. But the sentence for Adrien Nduwayo was not imposed until after he delivered a long tirade in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster. He stared at several of his accusers during his address, reducing the women to tears as he declared he would never hurt them and criticized police and doctors. Justice John Truscott sentenced Nduwayo to 15 years after deducting two years already served. Nduwayo was convicted in December of five counts of aggravated sexual assault, one of attempted aggravated sexual assault and one of sexual assault. He was accused of deceiving sexual partners about his HIV status and deliberately engaging in unprotected sex.
Sex may be genetic spring cleaning
Scientists have long wondered why organisms bother with sexual reproduction. It makes a whole lot more sense to just have a bunch of females that can clone themselves, which is how asexual reproduction works. Turns out sex might have evolved as a way to concentrate lots of harmful mutations into individual organisms so they could be easily weeded out by natural selection, a new computer model suggests. The classic explanation for the onset of whoopee, about 1 billion years ago, is that it provides a way for organisms to swap and shuffle genes and to create offspring with new gene combinations that might survive if the environment suddenly changes.

Fracture of the penis

Fracture of the penis is a condition where excessive force applied to the long axis of the penis in the erect state results in rupture of the tunica albuginea of the corpus cavernosum. Surgical management can be confusing and time-consuming due to the concealment of the tear in organized blood and edematous tissue, necessitating extensive dissection in friable traumatized tissues, especially if the tear is a small one, or if there are multiple tears.
Women are having surgery to rejuvenate their love lives
When Jeanette Yarborough decided to give her husband a gift for their seventeenth wedding anniversary she wanted it to be special. Really special. She decided that conventional treats such as Mediterranean cruises, gold watches, cars, a murder-mystery weekend, or even a boob job just weren’t going to cut it. She gave him something much more personal — and painful. Her virginity.
Well, sort of. Mrs Yarborough paid $5,000 (£2,860) to a cosmetic surgeon to stitch her hymen back together so she could “lose her virginity” all over again and her husband would have that thrilling conquest at the grand age of 40.

Sex is no longer taboo in China
Sex is gradually losing its status as a taboo subject in China, heralding major changes in people’s attitudes toward sex. A large number of Chinese are getting into a relationship that they call “living apart together”, living the life of a married couple with prior agreement to separate if one partner so desires and to control their sexual behaviour.

Rich couples choose baby's sex
Fertile Australian couples are seeking IVF treatment in the United States in a bid to choose the sex of their baby. Wealthy couples, spending up to $25,000, are using a controversial embryo sex screening procedure that is banned in Australia. A California fertility centre has performed the hi-tech procedure on about 14 Australian couples, News Limited newspapers reveal. The procedure involves fertile couples undergoing IVF to produce embryos, the newspapers says. A cell is then extracted from the embryos to determine the sex. Fertility Institutes director Jeffrey Steinberg said the couples had no problems making babies and the procedure was known to be 99 per cent accurate.

New drink to boost sex drive
The makers of "Turn On" claim that their product boosts sexual desire. "I don't see anything in here that would cause sexual arousal or desire," sex therapist Judith Silverstein said. But Turn On's Web site has testimonials from satisfied consumers. Turn On is loaded with vitamins and herbs such as ginseng, gingko baloba and what the makers call the key to its powers, schizandra, a small red fruit from China that is touted as an aphrodisiac. Experts said that the primary sex organ is the brain. So if consumers believe Turn On really boosts sex drive, it's not from what's in the can, but from what's inside their heads.

Have sex, live longer
Scientists have confounded the long-held tenet that sex is bad for your health. For Zambian mole-rats at least, a bit of the other extends lifespan. The work by German researchers, to be published in the journal Current Biology goes against accepted wisdom that carnal gymnastics are biologically expensive and tend to decrease lifespan. By examining 20 years of breeding habits, the team found that the fortunate few who got their end away on a regular basis lived on average twice as long. The authors of the report hope the discovery could shed new light on the evolution and mechanisms of ageing.

Refusing sex can get you stabbed
An Argentinean man who ignored all his wife's attempts to get him to have sex, literally ended up on the wrong end of the knife, when his disgruntled wife stabbed him in the back for not fulfilling his marital obligations. The 52-year-old woman, from Buenos Aires, revealed that she had gone to great lengths to entice her husband. But, when all efforts on her part came to naught, she got riled up that she stabbed him.

Kate Moss a lesbian
Kate moss has apparently been approached by Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee to play one of Dusty Springfield's early lovers in a biopic of the singer's life. In a coupling that is bound to threaten all previous box office records, Charlize Theron is thought to have been lined up to play the lead role in the film, which will feature Springfield's life from her birth in Hampstead to her death from breast cancer in 1999. "Kate is the ideal choice to play the love of Dusty's early life," a source told ananova.com. "She is beautiful, aloof and she epitomises swinging London. There'll probably be sexual scenes but as Ang is behind the cameras they will be very tastefully done. Kate's character breaks Dusty's heart and sparks off the chain of tumultuous relationships that dogged her throughout her life."

Men say sex gets better as you reach 50
Older men get satisfying sex lives than men in their 30s and 40s, says a study which shows that satisfaction does not necessarily get affected as men get older. Despite experiencing more sexual problems than someone 10 or 20 years younger, the average 50-year-old male was more sexually satisfied, researchers found. Their sexual contentment ratings are on a par with some men less than half their age. Researchers questioned 1,185 men aged between 20 and 79 about their sex life. They found that men in their 50s were more satisfied with their sex lives than those in their 30s and 40s, who suffered greater work-related stress.

Gay marriage improve health

Denmark was the first country to introduce civil partnerships for same sex couples in 1989, since then several European Union countries, some US states, Australia and Canada have all followed suit. The authors point to evidence, which suggests that homosexuals do not receive the same standard of health care as heterosexuals. Rates of depression, anxiety, drug abuse, cancer and suicidal behaviour are higher in the gay community than among heterosexual people.
According to the authors, discrimination, prejudice and intolerance on religious grounds are likely to be partly to blame for this. They suggest that civil partnerships are likely to break down some of this prejudice and promote greater understanding, including among staff working in the health service. They argue that legal civil partnerships could increase the stability of same sex relationships and minimise the social exclusion to which homosexuals are often subjected.
Heaven with no sex
To many Americans, eyebrows raise at the very idea of suicide bombers believing their heavenly reward will include sex with beautiful virgins. But aren't the 75 percent of Americans who believe in an afterlife concerned that there might not be any sex in their heaven? But the Koran describes a lush garden-like heaven in which each man can be married to a bevy of beautiful, dark-eyed females called houri. The passage is open to interpretation, but scholars say these are not earthly girls who died but heavenly creatures, and, it would appear, they can be deflowered and then automatically reflower.

Jennifer Aniston naked

Jennifer Aniston will set temperatures soaring in her new romantic comedy THE BREAK UP by parading around naked and hairless in one saucy scene. The actress bared all to co-star-turned-real-life boyfriend VINCE VAUGHN in the scene, in which her character BROOKE attempts to win back her ex-love. Brooke takes a friend's advice and has a 'TELLY SAVALAS' beauty treatment, which involves the waxing off of all body hair - and then wanders around the apartment she shares with her ex, played by Vaughn, totally naked. After cheekily glancing into a bathroom mirror and quoting Savalas' famous KOJAK line "Who loves ya baby?", Aniston's character lets her towel drop to the floor. As Vaughn's character stares in disbelief, Brooke has a cheeky giggle to herself as she walks to her bedroom.

Amsterdam sex bars offer 'free' day
Several topless bars, peep shows and sex show clubs in Amsterdam's famed Red Light prostitution district have declared an open house on Saturday. They hope to shore up their reputation with local politicians who are calling for a crackdown. "You can come in, have a free drink, look around," said Bob de Maan, spokesman for the Banana Bar, which is known for its live sex shows. "People think that this is something dirty, but now - it's an open house. They can see for themselves."
Prostitution in Amsterdam boomed during the city's 17th-century Golden Age, when hookers catered to sailors on shore leave. With its lingerie-clad women and red neon lights, the area in the city centre became a major tourist draw in the 20th century.
The Dutch government legalised prostitution in 2000 with an eye to making it easier to tax and regulate. But problems have continued as the area acts as a magnet for pimps, drug addicts, petty criminals and human traffickers.
A recent study found that despite health rules, about 7% of Dutch prostitutes have HIV, the virus that causes Aids.

Choosing baby's sex
Given the chance, most people wouldn’t choose the sex of their baby before conception, a new survey shows. The study, published in Fertility and Sterility, is based on an Internet survey of 1,197 men and women aged 18-45 years old. The survey has a sampling error of plus or minus 3 percent. Between 8 percent and 18 percent of participants stated that they would use medical technology described in the survey to choose whether to have a boy or girl. The survey stated that “it may soon be possible for parents to choose the sex of their children” and described three hypothetical scenarios:
Scenario No. 1: Go to a fertility center, provide a sperm sample, undergo 3 to 5 cycles of intrauterine insemination, and pay a fee of about $2,500. Scenario No. 2: Get one cycle of intrauterine insemination at any doctor’s office, with full coverage by health insurance. Scenario No. 3: Take a blue pill to ensure the birth of a boy or a pink pill for a girl.

Sheep rapist registered

A man who pleaded no contest to a sodomy charge involving a sheep says he should not be registered as a sex offender. Jeffrey Haynes, 42, said the state registry is intended to keep track of people who have committed crimes against humans. "The prosecutor is being real hard on me for what I did," Haynes said. "But I should not be treated as a child molester." Police said Haynes had sex with a sheep at a Bedford Township farm on January 26, 2005. The animal's owner caught him on the property and the sheep was found injured.

Sex can keep you feeling great
It can help to reduce stress, soothe pain, cure insomnia, lower the risk of a heart attack and, as if that wasn't enough, make your hair shine and your wrinkles vanish. "Forget about jogging round the block or struggling with sit-ups," says the UK National Health Service patients' helpline, NHS Direct. The key for healthy living is, in fact, "a good bout of sexercise".
Undertaking "regular romps" will bring a plethora of health rewards, from staying fit and burning calories to combating cancer. Orgasms even release painkillers into the bloodstream, helping keep mild illnesses like colds and aches and pains at bay, and produce extra oestrogen and testosterone hormones. These hormones will keep your bones and muscles healthy, leaving you feeling fabulous inside and out.

Canadian students mostly virtual

Young Canadians are practising a new style of safe sex and the only touching required involves a keyboard. Of more than 2,500 university and college students polled across Canada, 87 percent of them are having sex over instant messenger, webcams or the telephone, according to results of a national survey released on Monday. When it comes to having actual sex, eighty-seven percent of those polled claimed to be sober at the time. Ninety percent of students who responded said their campus promotes and supports safe-sex practices.

Sex business
In case it's not as obvious as a half-naked woman on a billboard, SEX SELLS. And it sells very well at Hamilton's two locations of the Stag Shop, brightly lit boutiques in busy strip malls which manage to make it seem like you're in the midst of a greeting card store rather than surrounded by all shapes and sizes of sex toys, erotic movies and very slinky lingerie. Major retailers have figured out that selling sex is going mainstream. Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws, Zellers and Wal-Mart Canada are among a growing range of stores stocking shelves with sex toys aimed at women. More innocently called "sexual well-being products," they include "intimacy gel" and a vibrating ring. It might be considered a surprising move, but executives of those chains say they are only reflecting the demands of mainstream tastes.

Gays in China
Few months ago government agencies published a report that put the number of gay men in China who are "of a sexually active age" at 5-10 million. Scientists say this is the low end of the estimate. They figure that there are around 30-40 million homosexual men and women in total. In 1997, China's Criminal Law decriminalized sodomy. In 2001, homosexuality was removed from the list of mental disorders by health authorities. But the changing law does not necessarily change public perception. Most gay people interviewed agree that the single biggest source of pressure and stigma comes from their own families.

Image disorder
A study has found that men are as likely as women to seek clinical help for the image obsession known as body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). The study shows that BDD, a debilitating disorder in which sufferers are preoccupied with imagined flaws in their appearance, afflicts the sexes to a similar degree, though men and women obsess about different parts of the body, said Dr. Katharine A. Phillips, a Brown University psychiatrist and one of the study's two authors.

Within the first hour, sex.eu domain had received 23 applications. It was followed by schumacher.eu with 15, realestate.eu with 12 and business.eu also with 12 applications, according to the European Registry of Internet Domain Names (Eurid). But the newest sex.eu applicants will have to wait in line as there were already over 200 claims in the database for the much sought after domain from those claiming to be trademark holders and from public bodies.

Smiles attract opposite sex the best
Ninety percent of U.S. women ranked smiles and friendliness ahead of physical appearance when gauging the approachability of the opposite sex. The survey, conducted by the Dr. Cliff Kuhn, also known as the Laugh Doctor, found 63 percent of women believe in love at first sight; 53 percent of respondents believe displaying a genuine sense of fun is significant for happiness; and only 41 percent of respondents believed sharing similar interests was important. "Wearing a smile appears to be the magnet that will pull someone in faster than dress or other physical attributes, and that's consistent with my field work over the past 35 years," said Kuhn. Kuhn, a nationally recognized self improvement guru and personal performance coach, says smiling can enhance sexuality because it immediately decreases stress and fills people with energy and creativity.

Vicars are sextoys customers
A British couple who launched a website selling sex toys to conservative Christians has revealed that vicars are some of their best clients. They revealed that they had decided to launch 'Wholly Love' to show normally reserved church-goers that sex is a gift from god, and that it should not be treated as something sinful. And the website seems to have gotten its stamp of approval from God himself, as vicars make up some of the couple's best clients.
"We have been expecting a storm of protest over what we're doing, but we've had no negative feedback so far. In fact we’ve had a lot of orders from vicars themselves". "We're offering products celebrating god's fantastic gift of sex within Christian marriage. We don't have any nudity on the website and we try to make it a pleasant, guilt-free, tasteful experience.

Italy: PM Silvio Berlusconi

Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's reported promise that he would abstain from sex until the April 9 general election was just a joke, the Italian leader said.
"It was a joke," Berlusconi said late Tuesday during a talk show on state-run TV. "We were laughing, joking." "I don't (abstain) at all," Berlusconi said. He added that "moderation" was necessary "since I have so many commitments."
On Sunday, an Italian daily reported that Berlusconi made the no-sex vow during a campaign rally the day before in Cagliari, Sardinia, with a popular TV preacher on the island and his followers. The clergyman, Rev. Massimiliano Pusceddu, praised the prime minister for what he described as a defence of family values and promised that his followers would support the conservative leader. According to the report, Berlusconi replied: "I thank you a lot. I will try to meet your expectations, and I promise from now on, 2 1/2 months of absolute sexual abstinence, until April 9." The report was carried in Il Giornale, a conservative Milan daily owned by Paolo Berlusconi, the prime minister's brother.
Berlusconi is married to Veronica Lario, an actress.
Berlusconi's challenger in the vote is Romano Prodi, a centre-left leader and former prime minister.

Sex is the best stress buster
A new research has found that the best way to ease the stress of public speaking is by having sex.
The study, by psychologist Stuart Brody from the University of Paisley, was conducted on a group of 24 women and 22 men who were asked to keep diaries of the number of times they engaged in various forms of sex.
They volunteers then underwent a stress test involving public speaking and performing mental arithmetic out loud.
It was found that those who had engaged in heterosexual intercourse were the least stressed, and that their blood pressure returned to normal faster than those who had engaged in other forms of sexual activity.

Micropenis

Vast numbers of men - in one estimate the greater majority - think that they have a penis much below the average in size. Perhaps they should console themselves with the thought that many men have extremely diminutive organs. Pomeroy states that the smallest penis encountered in the Kinsey surveys was 1 inch. long In the Forum study the smallest erect penis was found to be 4.75 inches in length, quite large compared with many of the specimens that do exist. There are instances reported in the medical literature of penises that do not exceed 1 cm in full erection: such organs are sometimes labelled with the term "micropenis". And even 1 cm is not the smallest-sized penis known to medical researchers. There is a condition known as "congenital hypoplasia", where the body of the penis is totally absent and the glans is attached to the pubic region. In one such reported case, with an effective penis of much less than 1 cm. in length, the testes and secondary sexual characteristics were found to be quite normal.
Larger penis pills

Pills and capsules that claim to enlarge the penis are a hot topic at the moment. With names like Longitude, Vig RX, Viacyn, Enzyte, Penis Pill, ProSolution Pills and Extend, the manufacturers of these mainly herbal based preparations say they can increase the size of the penis by up to 50%. The ingredients of these penis enlargement pills vary, usually including a number of herbal extracts, minerals and vitamins.
The active component in most of these pills is often Yohimbine, which comes from the African Yohimbe tree. Yohimbe has been the subject of several studies with laboratory animals. It is an alkaloid which is claimed to be both an aphrodisiac and a general sexual tonic boosting sex drive, potency and stamina. In rats, Yohimbe was found to boost the sex drive, hence its reputation for being an aphrodisiac. In humans, Yohimbe can raise blood pressure and increase the heart rate. It can also assist with blood circulation. Because of its effect on blood circulation, it is likely that Yohimbe could also have an effect on the erectile function of the penis, resulting in harder, and therefore larger, erections. Whether or not preparations such as these can stimulate actual penis growth is not known. Because these formulations can boost blood flow to the penis, an increasing number of men are using pills in combination with a natural penis enlargement program. Men who have tried combining the two say the increased blood flow to the penis benefits the penile massage techniques and that size gains are achieved more quickly. Men should be aware that Yohimbe formulations are prohibited in a number of countries outside the United States. Additionally, the FDA is investigating Yohimbe as it can have unwelcome side effects.
Leaving penis enlargement pills aside, researchers say that the best way to improve the size and performance of the penis is to maintain a healthy diet and watch what is taken into the body. One of the worst things men can do is smoke. Smoking can actually shrink the penis and its effects on health in general are well documented. Excess intake of alcohol can also have a detrimental effect. Apart from impotence (brewers droop), alcohol can also cause a general weight increase. Weight can have a very real effect on the size of the penis as excess body fat can cause more of the penis to remain hidden “inside” the body. In very obese men, penis size is often reduced dramatically.
Maintaining a trim physique - and a fit penis - can be achieved through a sensible diet and dietary intake should also include the following supplements to ensure a healthy penis and reproductive system:
- Zinc - Bananas are a good source of zinc and it can also be taken as a supplement. In young men, zinc aids genital growth and it also helps produce healthy sperm in all men. Ensure you follow the recommended dosage if taking a supplement.
- Vitamin E - Needed to ensure a healthy blood circulatory system. Ensure you follow the recommended dosage if taking a supplement.
- Saw Palmetto - Especially helpful for older men as it aids in keeping the prostate functioning properly. Ensure you follow the recommended dosage if taking a supplement.
The supplements above are the main ones recommended by doctors. A range of other supplements and preparations may also be of assistance in maintaining a healthy penis and reproductive system. Consult your doctor if you need assistance as to what your requirements may be.

Drew Barrymore sex

Rocker Fabrizio Moretti and girlfriend Drew Barrymore were left red-faced recently when they were caught having sex in the bathroom at a New York opera house.
The Strokes drummer, 25, and screen star Barrymore, 30, decided to find another way to entertain themselves after becoming bored watching the show.
Moretti tells Jane magazine, "I had sex in the bathroom at the opera a little while ago, in New York. We went to La Boheme and it was wicked boring. So we decided to go to the bathroom, and we got caught, and it was embarrassing" reports sfgate.com.
"If we'd gone to the men's room, people would've heard it and said, 'Good on you, man.'
But we were in the ladies room, and when we heard an old woman start to tinkle, we couldn't help but crack up."

Bush - Google

The Bush administration on Wednesday asked a federal judge to order Google to turn over a broad range of material from its closely guarded databases.
The move is part of a government effort to revive an Internet child protection law struck down two years ago by the U.S. Supreme Court. The law was meant to punish online pornography sites that make their content accessible to minors. The government contends it needs the Google data to determine how often pornography shows up in online searches.
In court papers filed in U.S. District Court in San Jose, Justice Department lawyers revealed that Google has refused to comply with a subpoena issued last year for the records, which include a request for 1 million random Web addresses and records of all Google searches from any one-week period.
The Mountain View-based search and advertising giant opposes releasing the information on a variety of grounds, saying it would violate the privacy rights of its users and reveal company trade secrets, according to court documents.
Nicole Wong, an associate general counsel for Google, said the company will fight the government's effort "vigorously."
